Two Things To Add To Your 2019 New Year Goals

“My most important goal for 2019 is to stop wishing my life away.. stop wishing for Friday, dreading Monday, wishing I was done with school, wishing I would find my soul mate, wishing I would be this or that. It’s time to start loving every moment I am blessed to be living in.” – Eliza Hatcher

Every year, I write out an elaborate plan on how I’m gonna get my life together. And most times, it gets overwhelming and too much to do. I’m in a stage in my life where I’m learning less is more and I am implementing this idea into my 2019 goals.

This year, I want to live in abundance and gratefulness. I want to have a goal that is “simple” and practical. I feel like I’ve spent far too much time wishing my life away rather than living in the moment. As a child, I remember wanting to grow up so I can be more independent. Then in Highschool, I wondered how amazing college would be and when I went to college, I imagined how amazing my life would be when I finally got a job and so on. The point is, how many of us are guilty of rushing the seasons of our lives? I bet most of us are and there is no shame in acknowledging the truth. In 2019, I want to live in every moment of my life. I realize that life is happening right now and it’s happening fast.

This year, I have two simple things that I will incorporate in my daily lifestyle. I will also encourage you to add these to your 2019 goals.

  1. Acknowledge Where You Are Often And Live In The Moment: We often forget that our life is happening now. Not yesterday or tomorrow, but now. You don’t want to look back on your life wondering where life went. Be conscious of your present and make the most out of it. You are beyond blessed and God has your future in His hands. Just enjoy right now.
  2. Learn To Not Complain And Be Grateful For What You Have: Complaining takes you nowhere. Trust me, I’ve been there and it sucks. A better use of your time this year is to focus on your present and be grateful for your portion. Even though your current reality may not be ideal, thank God anyways. Gratitude goes a long way.

  1. I LOVE this! I’ve honestly been the same for most of my life, just always ready for the next phase of life. In my defense, my life pre-grad was pretty crappy lol. But it does become a bad habit to break where you’re constantly fighting for the next thing instead of just living in the moment and being appreciative of your current position. It’s good to be ambitious, especially in your 20s, which is our growing and working years, but yeah there definitely has to be a balance. Great post, as always! 🙂

    1. Yayy!!! I always appreciate your comments!! It’s so important to live in the moment. Daily! I’m sure being a mum is teaching you that. One day you give birth, the next, they’re snappy teenagers lol.
